Video Poker Strategy

Video Poker is one of the few casino games that may offer the player an advantage over the house if he plays right. There are different strategy charts for each game that help the players to analyse the game better. Using these charts is not that hard. You need to make sure that you analyse your hand correctly. Compare the cards you hold to the cards you can see in the chart. Check which cards will be good to hold and which cards may result in a high payout when certain other cards happen to be revealed by the video poker machine you’re playing on. You can find different video poker strategy charts on the internet. It is advisable that you try and memorise them as much as you possibly can.

Video Poker Rules

Video poker cards rank as follows from highest to lowest card value: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two and Ace. An Ace can also either count as a high or low card. Whenever you reject a card, you will be given replacement cards for that particular card. Each card will give you a number of points.

The replacement cards mean that your entire hand will be counted again and it will be evaluated how many points you have based on your cards. Hands in Video Poker look as follows:
